Maryland Innovation Lab Selects Two Innovators to Drive Decarbonization and Energy Affordability

BALTIMORE, MD – October 28, 2025 – Last month, 15 innovative businesses from Australia, Canada, Germany, Israel, Spain, Switzerland, the UK, and the US arrived in Maryland to present at the Maryland Innovation Lab Pitch Day, which took place at the Maryland Innovation Center in Howard County. These companies were selected from over 850 startups and scaleups, identified by L Marks from over 25 countries, to address the key areas of opportunity within decarbonization and affordability, as highlighted by the Lab industry partners – Baltimore Gas & Electric, Pompeian and Capital Logistics. The Maryland Innovation Lab is a unique public-private innovation program led by L Marks, the World Trade Center Institute, and the Maryland Department of Commerce.
Today, we can announce that two companies – Maiven Energy (Colorado, USA) and Adiona (Sydney, Australia) – have been selected to join the collaboration program. Over the next 10 weeks, they will engage with industry partners to explore real-world applications of their technologies, refine their solutions, and advance their growth in the region.
These innovators are ready to reshape the future, partnering with industry leaders to deliver bold, practical solutions that drive decarbonization and energy affordability for the State of Maryland.
