L Marks appoints MD, Americas and establishes US HQ in Columbus, Ohio

L Marks, the London-based firm behind the innovation programs transforming companies including American Electric Power and Volvo Financial Services, has cemented its US presence with the establishment of a regional office in Columbus, Ohio and appointment of a new Managing Director, Americas

The Columbus office will be L Marks’ US headquarters as the company continues to grow its US business and extend its reach into Canada and Latin America. US operations will be led by Columbus resident Mike Logozzo, former strategic and transformation leader at BMW Financial Services. During his 18-year tenure, Logozzo was responsible for business operations, innovation, and best practices integration at the automotive company’s Americas Regional Services Center in Columbus and the headquarters in Munich, Germany. With vast experience implementing innovation strategies and solutions in complex business environments, Logozzo was behind the first BMW Financial Services Collaboration Lab, Region Americas in partnership with L Marks in 2018.

L Marks’ continued expansion into the US follows the success of pioneering initiatives in partnership with Columbus firms Safelite Autoglass, BMW Financial Services, and American Electric Power. L Marks has also partnered with Volvo Financial Services to drive innovation at the company’s US headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina. Program Coordinator Hannah Gray has been instrumental in the success of these programs. Gray will join Logozzo in the Columbus office as L Marks prepares to launch a new program in New York later this year.

L Marks CEO, Daniel Saunders, said:

As the home of numerous industry leaders embracing innovation and digital transformation, Columbus, Ohio was the obvious choice for our US headquarters. The local universities, as well as firms including JobsOhio, Columbus2020 and VentureOhio, have played a key role in cultivating the entrepreneurial spirit synonymous with the city. As early and growth-stage companies and investors continue to gravitate toward Columbus, L Marks is uniquely placed to develop and leverage the city’s talent, ideas and tech. The culture of collaboration in Columbus, together with L Marks methodologies and relationships with global startup ecosystems, will underpin our efforts to lead digital transformation across Columbus and Ohio, and across the US.

We are delighted to welcome Mike Logozzo as Managing Director, Americas. His vast experience in corporate innovation and his expertise in harnessing the potential of early and growth-stage companies will support successful partnerships with corporates across the country, generating a dynamic culture and, ultimately, fueling growth.

Managing Director, Americas, Mike Logozzo, said:

I experienced first-hand the transformational nature of L Marks innovation programs at my previous organization and I believe it is something very special. To now have the opportunity to work with organizations across the country to drive innovation in this way – and to be able to do it from Columbus – is a dream come true. It is a privilege and honor to be appointed as Managing Director, Americas and I look forward to working with Columbus2020 and JobsOhio to create new development opportunities and growth.

Valentina Isakina, Managing Director for Financial Institutions and HQs at JobsOhio, said:

I am pleased that L Marks found the right leadership talent and ecosystem to set up its US headquarters in Ohio. When a global innovation leader like L Marks makes such a choice, it is an independent validation of why Ohio is already Top 5 Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 HQ location. Ohio’s top talent, advantageous cost of operations, and a collaborative and supportive ecosystem provide an unparalleled opportunity to succeed. We welcome L Marks and look forward to its contribution to further innovation in our state and beyond.

Kenny McDonald, President and CEO at Columbus 2020 said:
As a Region, we are continually focusing on increasing our innovation capacity and we are proud that the critical fuel of tech growth—educated labor—is expanding faster here than in other major markets. We’re excited that L Marks has chosen the Columbus Region as the home of their US headquarters and we look forward to them playing an important role in the ecosystem here.
