James has acted as a mentor to startups across a range of L Marks programmes including Belron Drive, BMW FS Innovation Lab, HouseMark Evolve.

Lan O’Connor

Advisor, Investor, NED

Lan has held board and C level roles in global business and technology advisory firms. She founded, expanded and sold her own consulting firm and has been MD of a tech firm through IPO. Her focus is technology, working with companies of all sizes from established global entities to start-ups and SMEs, particularly helping grow and expand into new markets. She works in B2B sectors including life sciences, utilities and professional services. She is also an recent investor in the space tech sector.

Simon Devonshire OBE

While at O2 Simon cofounded Wayra Europe, Telefonica's accelerator. The fund he managed invested in 234 fast-growth digital businesses. He helped co-found and scale-up One Water, Zopa.com, The Local Data Company. He is an investor in TalentCupboard.com, Yoti.com, Wrisk.co and Howz.com Simon is Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR) for the UK Government and also EiR for the National Physical Laboratory.

George Berkowski

George has built and sold businesses in manned space flight, online dating, transportation and mobile apps. Previously he was Chairman of MIT’s Enterprise Forum in the UK and led the product team at the taxi hailing app Hailo, launching the app in 13 cities and helping drive the first $150 million in revenue before acquisition by Daimler in 2016. He also founded DeepAR.ai, an augmented reality technology platform that enables any app or website to add Snapchat-like masks, lenses, filters and special effects with a simple software development kit. George is also the author of the best-selling book “How to Build a Billion Dollar App”.

Anthony is a technical and product visionary whose career has included 3D graphics, P2P music, internet video, social TV and online communities. Known as “The man behind BBC iPlayer”, he took the iPlayer from pre-launch to major success story. Seedlegals is a legaltech platform that lets startups and investors complete the legals needed to build, grow and fund their business, at a fraction of the cost of using a law firm. Previously he founded 6Tribes, which was acquired within a year, and co-founded Beamly, acquired by Coty in 2015.

Dr Andrew Muir Wood

Andrew is a design research leader with experience of every stage of product development, from generating completely new ideas to testing and iterating existing ones. He has led research on a broad range of physical and digital products for both big brands and start-ups. He is currently at Prix, a hotel price optimisation start-up. Prior to this he ran research and prototyping teams at DueDil, a B2B SaaS start-up in London. Andrew advises several start-ups on design research and UX and he mentors at Google's Launchpad and Mums in Technology.
