Read moreIn a rapidly shifting energy and retail environment, an energy and oil company sought to secure its position as the preferred brand. With increasing competition and evolving technologies transforming the fuel ecosystem, the company aimed to uncover new opportunities to remain competitive and meet the needs of future consumers.
Following a transition from company-owned service stations to a branded wholesaler model, the company faced increasing competition from hypermarkets and independent ‘petropreneurs.’ Changing consumer relationships with vehicles, fuel, and retail experiences—driven by regulatory shifts and advancing technologies—posed additional challenges. The primary objective was identifying new opportunities to drive differentiation and brand loyalty within this dynamic landscape.

We explored emerging opportunities at the intersection of powertrains, fuels, telematics, mobile solutions, and retail experiences. We developed future scenarios for the evolving retail fuel ecosystem, providing a strategic foundation for innovation and decision-making.

The insights generated into current and future consumer needs have informed ongoing marketing strategies, while a deep understanding of emerging technology platforms continues to drive investments in fuel experience differentiation. This has positioned the company to remain a leader in a rapidly changing market.
